Haug Christian was born in Soleur, Norway on September 9, 1862.
He was a Norwegian painter of portraits, nudes and landscapes. Haug studied with master teachers and artists Knut Bergseilen, H. Backer and E. Peterssen.
He stayed in Munich (1897) and Paris (1899 -1900) to study and work. He traveled and painted also in Italy. Since 1916 he became an Art Advisor at “Aftenpost”.
He lived in Freetown Christiania, Oslo and exhibited there. He exhibited quite successfully in Copenhagen, Denmark and Munich, Germany.
Haug Christian died on October 10, 1953 in Munich. Today, his works can be found in private collections worldwide.
